- I have a previous version of WallChanger (before 2.4), what should I do before installing the latest version?
It is recommended that you uninstall any previous version before installing WallChanger 2.4 or higher, as it uses a new and more advanced install system. All your current settings and features will be saved (such as registration information).
- Do I have to pay for any updates?
No, any updates are currently free.
- Is there a time limit when evaluating WallChanger?
No, there is not. The shareware version of WallChanger is not limited in any way. The only thing it does is display a "registration" dialog each time it starts, and after a certain amount of changes. It also draws an unregistered text to the wallpaper. Registering makes this go away. I'm sorry I had to add all these things, but I was getting very few registrations, and I have to pay for the hosting!
- If I install a new version, will I loose my registration information?
No, you will not - it is saved in the Windows Registry. But, newer versions sometimes require new keys. You can email bluetreesoft for a new key.
- When I uninstalled WallChanger, it said it couldn't remove all files. What can I do?
WallChanger has a Windows Shell Extension Dynamic Link Library (DLL) which may be in use and cannot be removed by the uninstaller. First, reboot your computer. Then, browse to where you installed WallChanger with the Windows Explorer (C:\Program Files\WallChanger by default), and delete this folder (or, just delete any files in the folder). All of WallChanger's files will now be removed from your machine.
- I want to remove registry entries WallChanger made - how can I do this?
Caution - for advanced users only! Using regedit, delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blue\WallChanger key. Doing this will remove any saved registration information (if any) that you have.
